What do you teach?
I teach drumset and hand percussion in private or group lessons. I cover all levels and styles on drumset and have a comprehensive knowledge of techniques, methods and different pedagogies to cater to each student individually. With my extensive collection of ethnic percussion instruments from around the world, I can cover a wide variety of World Percussion styles including; West-African, Brazilian, Cuban and Multi-Percussion Set-Ups.
Where do you teach?
At your home, a rented studio in Manhattan or my private studio (see photo below) in Long Island City, Queens. My private studio is preferred because the studio is designed to be the ideal teaching environment. Two full drum kits, a PA system and a library of educational materials at our disposal. It is also the best financial option as my rate increases for home lessons and when renting a Manhattan studio. My private studio is located one block from Queensboro Plaza (N,Q,7) and close to Queens Plaza (M,R,E) and Queensbridge (F) MTA stations. There is also a paid parking lot across the street and street parking is fairly easy to find depending on time of day.
When do you teach?
My weekly schedule is fairly flexible, but generally I teach at my private studio on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon/evenings.
Who do you teach?
Ages 2 and up. From beginner to advanced. I’ll explore any area of learning.
How much does it cost?
Lesson cost vary according to length and location. My first “Meet and Greet” lesson is always $20. Please contact me to find the cost of your lessons.
What do I need to get started?
You might have all the equipment you already need. If not, I can bring everything you will need for the first “Meet and Greet “lesson. After the first lesson you will need to purchase your own sticks, practice pad and music stand (I will help you make these purchases). When you are ready to upgrade, we can discuss the right time and best way to buy a drum set.
